BR 3-7 London

The name London comes from the Romans.(p.2)  Every year, more than nine million people come from countries all over the world to visit London. London is famous for a sightseeing spot. There are a lot of famous and fascinating spots to visit in London. For example, Oxford Street is famous to look at the shops, museums are famous in London and it's said that two million visitors go to the Tower of London.  Next theme is the beginning of London. The name London comes from the Romans. The Romans came to England in AD 43. They built houses and other buildings and they called the town Londinium. It's the beginning of London. A year later, in 1666, there was a big fire. It's The Fire of London. IT began in a house in Pudding Lane, near London Bridge. More than a quarter of a million Londoners lost their homes in the fire. BR 3-6 The Truth Machine

"Success!" cried Professor Verity. "My new invention is ready. It is now complete. I shall call it The Truth Machine." (p.3)       One day, a prpfessor, Verity invented The Truth Machine and he phoned a newspaper office. Then he was on radio and on the television too. All over the world, newspapers and magazines wrote about him and he became a famous inventor. Many people wrote to him and he chose three people of them. They were Mrs. Seeker, Inspector Sack and Dr Simple. Of them, the first visitor was Mrs. Seeker. She wanted to check if her husband had another woman. She wanted the truth from her husband. Next visitor was Sack. He was a policeman and he wanted to get to know the truth about some criminals. In other words, he wasnted to know wether criminals really comitted crimes or not. “San Francisco has a long and interesting story, from the early days of the gold rush to today.”(p.39)      This book talks about various aspects of San Francisco from 10 concepts.  Firstly, San Francisco as the city of hills is written. There are about seventy hills in San Francisco. Because of it, it is a very good place for taking photos. We can stand on the hills and see wonderful San Francisco. The beautiful scenery should be recorded by taking pictures of them. As stated above, there are a lot of hills in San Francisco, so the hills break the town into different parts and these are called neighborhood. Many visitors love neighborhoods of San Francisco. Next, we can learn early days of San Francisco. San Francisco is now very big city but many days ago, it was called Yerba Buena. It was not a city but it was a town. "Where does she live?" "Who is he?"(p.4,7)      Anna lives in Grandview Apartments, Charlton. One day, she sees a man at outside the apartment building. Since then, she has been thinking about the man. He was young and smiled at her.      Will isk a man and his grandma lives in the Grabdview Apartment, Charlton. He is going to the apartment to see his grandma. Then he sees a woman standing. She is beautiful. After that, he has been thinking about her.      They are thinking about each other, but they can't meet again. However, a few months later, they can se each other again.....      This story is very pure. I really enjoyed reading this story! BR 3-2 The Elephant Man

"I looked at the creature and felt sad.”(p.4)      One day, Dr Treves sees a picture in the window of a shop near his hospital. In the picture, there is a man, but he doesn’t like human. It’s like an elephant. After that, he pays money and see the elephant man. The creature looks bad so Dr Treves suggests to go to hospital and the creature follows. However, a few days later, when the doctor goes to the shop, there isn’t the creature. Two years later, a police finds the creature, Merrick and he comes to the hospital. From them, he starts to live there. He was very quiet and had a closed mind. However, a life in the hospital change him...      The story was very interesting. I wonder how Merruck  got such a body.

BR 3-1 The Girl with Red Hair

"Who is that beautiful girl? What is her name? I want to met her." (p.5)      Mark works in security in Mason's store. One day, during his work, he found a woman with red hair on the screen he was watching. She was very beautiful. From then, he is looking for the red hair girl everyday and found that she comes to the store every Wednesday. However, she comes with a boy, probably he is her son. One day, when Mark is watching the screen, the girl goes out from the shop and then, a man comes. He is like a husband of her. Mark is dissapointed. That night, he is invited to the party and joined it  to remove his dissapointing mind. Surprisingly, at the party, he found the red hair girl. Why is she in the party?      I thought that our life is fulled with miracles after reading this story. BR 2-11 The Double Bass Mystery

 " Welcome to Barcelona! Frank Shepherd said to us all." A main character in this story is Penny. She plays a the double bass in orchestra. One day, she arrives at Barcelona with her instrument. However, there is not her double bass. It's the starting of some happenings. For example, a manager  of the orchestra was dead and her boyfriend is not as usual. The relationship among the orchestra is also not good.
